2010 ROCK SPRING LEAGUE

The Rock Spring League is the area’s most established spring soccer youth league with almost 500 teams competing in soccer ages U8 thru U18 for both boys and girls. All games are played on Sunday afternoons starting early spring (4/11/10) and playing thru early June (6/6). No games played on Mother’s Day 5/9 and Memorial Day Sunday 5/30. Registration fees are $100 for early registration before 12/31/09 and $120 for on time registration before 2/18/10. We offer multiple divisons in almost all age groups and we do allow teams to play up in age where appropriate.

The Rock Spring League rules have been updated effective 4/22/10 and you can CLICK HERE to be taken to the revised rules section. Please note that this change pertains to player/coach location on the sidelines and to clarify that only carded players and coaches from both teams are to be on one side of the field and all spectators are on the other side of the field. (See link above for rules and/or view revision below.) 

          SECTION I - TEAM AREAS

A.  TEAM AREAS WILL BE ON ONE SIDE OF THE FIELD AND SPECTATOR AREAS ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE FIELD. ONLY CARDED COACHES AND PLAYERS ARE PERMITTED ON THE “TEAM AREA” SIDE OF THE FIELD. ALL PLAYERS AND COACHES WILL STAY WITHIN 10 YARDS OF THEIR TEAMS RESPECTIVE SIDE OF THE MID-FIELD LINE. THIS WILL BE CALLED THE “TEAM AREA”. THEY SHALL NOT MINGLE WITH SPECTATORS DURING THE COURSE OF THE GAME.  COACHCES ARE NEVER PERMITTED TO CROSS OVER THE MID FIELD LINE INTO THE OTHER TEAMS HALF OF THE FIELD.

  B. ONCE A GAME HAS STARTED, NO PLAYER, COACH OR SPECTATOR MAY ENTER THE FIELD OF PLAY WITHOUT PERMISSION FROM THE REFEREE.

This Rock Spring league typically leaves field status decisions up to the individual clubs but as a general rule teams do play in the rain. Referee’s determine if field conditions are safe for game play. Note that all games will be cancelled if there is lightning.

Each schedule page has the spring game schedule along with the field location and team contact info. Please remember that the visiting team coach/manager should contact the home team a minimum of 2 days prior to the game to confirm game time, jersey color and filed address and location.

The season starts Sunday April 11’th and runs thru Sunday June 6’th with no league play on Sunday May 9’th (Mother’s Day) and Sunday May 30’th of Memorial Day Weekend. Rain out date if needed will be Sunday June 13’th.

Each team will pay ½ of the referee fee at each game.

Update 3/10/10: Thanks very much to the many teams who have once again registered for the 2010 Rock Spring League as we are close to another record number of team registrations. As of this time; registrations for most divisions are full but there are a few possible openings. Please contact Hank at Rockleague@aol.com for more info on any division openings.

Schedules are being completed now and will be sent out very soon. A reminder again that the first date for games is Sunday 4/11/2010.
